^ I'll say, I've no idea where to start replying! It's a Kel/Wyldon explosion! ;D It seems rather lame to say I agree with everyone, ... BUT I DO! ;D I wonder if anyone can manage Kel/Wyldon for fairytales challenge?

Wow, that would be awesome. What fairy tales would suit them? Is there anything specifically regarding an unlikely pairing? (er... can Beauty and the Beast be modified?)
Three pages of W/K love. I'm in heaven! ::prance, prance::

Ahhh I know! I squee every time I see a reply here... it's definitely my current favorite thread I'd kill Vivenne to see a fairytale challenge with K/W. But what would work for them? Hm.

Agreed that this is the best thread ever.
A fairytale challenge fic? Maybe... well, Beauty and the Beast is all I can think of.

What do you think Kel would see in Wyldon that she would make that jump from strictly respecting him as her commander to falling in love with him? Me, I think she likes that he's bald

Hee-hee! As much as I love Kel finding his baldness attractive, I would say canonically that's not the first thing she'd go for - note that her first assessment of him says "he was handsome, for all that he was completely bald on top" or something of that nature. So I would say that she thinks he's handsome *despite* being bald.

I agree. I think for Kel, it would be an emotional attraction that got to her first, rather than physical.

I know. lol. I was kidding. I don't actually think she digs him for his shiny scalp.

It would be awesome if she did.
While I think Kel would fall in love with him for emotional reasons, it can't be denied that she *is* physically attracted to him and she *has* been known to go for guys primarily because they're attractive. ::coughDomcough::
But since Kel and Wyldon are already well established as acquaintances, it's a bit late for her to choose looks or personality first. I will note that she found him attractive even when she hated what he was doing. ^__^
(okay, I'm biased because *I* imagine Wyldon being smoking hot in an intelligent-sexy-older-man sort of way, even with his baldness.)

In an effort to never let this thread die, why don't we share our favorite Kel and Wyldon moments, and how they make our hearts twitter at the notion of being Kel/Wyldon moments? One of my favorites is in Lady Knight, when Kel is giving her assessment of the situation with Idrius Valestone, and Wyldon has to cover his mouth to hide his smile. I love that Kel is so happy to have made him smile.

Lisa, you saved the day. No one was replying to this thread but I didn't want to double post!
Ughh, that was so the scene I would have used. I think that was kind of when they both realized the other has a sense of humor after all.
I'm rather fond of the scene where Wyldon discovers Kel's been using weighted lances the whole time (all thanks to Neal, proof that he will be the catalyst for their relationship). He was just kind of like, "Buh?"

Eee! I love that one, too! I was just re-reading it the other day.
My all-time favorite Wyldon-moment is probably when Kel is waking up after the ordeal with Lalasa and Jump on Balor's Needle, and he says "Well there you are," when she opens her eyes. And she's surprised at how different his voice/manner is. It's a great reminder that he's a dad as well as a training master.

I love the lance scene too. One of my favourites would be the one at the end of Lady Knight, where he kisses her forehead.

Eeee! I love that scene, too, Isha! Last time I saw Tammy at a signing I had her sign that specific page of LK, since it's the completion of Wyldon's evolution. ;D

Well, it's such a great moment... Wyldon starts to treat Kel differently in Squire, when she finds out he's resigned. That's when he nearly apologized to her for trying to inhibit her as a page, and that's when he acknowledges that she thinks he's better than he really is, and it's so lovely. But then come Lady Knight, you REALLY begin to see him treat her almost like an equal at times, at that final scene is so very pretty because they've truly come full circle with each other.
(as far as I'm concerned, that's where the story ends.)

It's where the story should've ended. Kel defeated the Nothing Man and his dog, which was the most obvious plot, but Wyldon served as an underlying foil throughout all the books. The epilogue tied up loose ends, which is nice, but I thought it was Kel's final triumph that she and Wyldon finally came to terms with each other.

So... if Vivenne fell off the face of the earth and Wyldon got it in his head that Kel was an attractive gal he wanted to, er, spend some quality time with (after the oft-mentioned crisis that made them realize how they felt, I mean) - would it have to be a serious relationship? would Kel and Wyldon be the types who would do things "properly" and end up married? Or would they stoically set their feelings aside?

I think you'd probably need something to make her to marry him. Their relationship would probably stay underground, so to speak, unless they were to marry. Likely, Kel wouldn't want to wed him, for various reasons (she'd be Lady of Cavall, she'd probably be under pressure to bear him sons no matter what he says, what would people think of him and his reputation for marrying his former student).

Agreed. Plus, Kel is very conscious of how she stands with the rest of the realm, and she is not a person to make waves gossip-wise.
(They'd probably just go off and shag each other silly.)

And in empty classrooms, and on top of the astronomy tower, and in the prefect's bathroom...
(sorry - I was writing Wyldon-smut over the weekend, so I'm in a happy Wyldon-place. Alas, Kel was not a part of it for this particular story.)
