Title: Not Given Lightly Rating: PG-13 Length: 229 Character: Wyldon Summary: He feels things deeply – especially his love for her. Note: inspired by Frente!’s song, Not Given Lightly.
She drops light kisses on his lips to wake him, and likes that his first reaction is to smile. “It’s morning,” she says. “Time to wake.” Her body is still entwined with his, from hours of sex and sleep. The sheets tie them to one another more suggestively than the rings around their fingers.
He moves to sit up, but she pushes him back down to the bed. “It’s cold when you leave,” she murmurs. She needs his flesh, his warmth. She wishes they could make love, but she knows he has business to attend to. “You love your work more than me.”
He looks at her with an expression that reveals all the tenderness she was surprised to discover, so long ago. Even with his sleepiness, she is reminded of how much he loves her, and she hopes that her eyes and smile reflect these feelings back at him.
“It’s you that I love,” he says, pushing her hair out of her face, so he can view her more clearly.
She marvels at the love they share; even after months of marriage, she feels a sense of wonder at their luck. He doesn’t give his affection lightly. His feelings are part of his being, sensations that go deep into his bones. And of all things he could love with every fiber of his being, he has chosen her.

Oh, this is just lovely. I adore the teasing about work, and the last line is so very sweet.
