Guestpost: Today's 24th prompt is Memory camps
All 'great' events, all heroes and heroines, seem to become the way they are written because of how they are remembered. Generations and distance add to a strange consensus--or, often, a set of them: an established debate. Even collective memories, however, are made up of individuals, each with with their own weights and colours, even in matters where censenus appears inevitable.
This challenge is to write at least two characters views of the same event. Not nessecarily characters who are explictly on opposite sides, like Alanna and Thom over Roger's ressurection, for example, but two or more characters who experienced the same event in what might have appeared to be the same way. Two soldiers in a war. Lark and Rosethorn, coming across their students after the earthquake. How would the two views differ--how would they interract?
This challenge is an experiment in shading.
Hope you have fun with it!
