Summary: Her daughter's name means more than one might think.

End the affair – or be divorced, disgraced, and never see her children again.
The choice was always an easy one.
She told the Queen the rumours were baseless; she told the King she didn’t love him; and she told her husband the child was - most definitely - his.
Only one of those statements contained any truth.
With that, she returned home and bore a healthy girl, much to the irritation of her husband. No son ever followed, but she didn’t mind. The child was a lovely creature, though she looked nothing like her father.
So she called her Delia, after the King’s mother.
