He stared at them, unimpressed. Their heated racket had woken him from his afternoon nap, and if the sight of two grown knights huddled on Squire Alan’s measly cot befuddled him, he didn’t show it.

“Kill it, Raoul.”

“Why don’t you do it?”

“Because. I’m the Prince.”

“And that’s an excuse?”

“Will someone just get rid of it!”

His irritation rising, he got up and padded to the space between the three and rested on his belly. Trapping the spider under his right paw, he lowered his face and licked it straight into his mouth.

It took me a while to understand who and what it was that was eating... I was thinking it was Gary, but no, it was Faithful.
