Summary: A race to reach Dove first with important news, and Aly finds herself slightly bewitched by a wolf.
Because: It’s short and sweet, and very much captures the characterization of Aly while tantalizing readers with the chemistry between Aly and Taybur.

Summary: Rispah worries about her husband as he reflects on bygone days, when a little girl with copper curls chased her twin brother through the Trebond gardens. Some crowns cannot be mended, even one made of wildflowers, twigs, and love.
Because: this is a tender story not only about types of love – the love between a man and his wife, a servant and his charges, a brother and sister – while ultimately showing that the gods have to be unmerciful about that love.
