Hi! I didn't see a general music recs thread up at the moment, and I love a good music thread, so I thought I'd start one myself.
I've been playing soccer mommy's new release on loop since I first heard it! It sounds soooo good and I love it so much. <3

Hi! So um I’ve been playing ‘About Love’ from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before on loop for like a day or so, and it’s really good! I kinda feel like it describes many of the TP ships because at first the girls don’t really want relationships but after they actually figure out what love is like, they can’t get the people they love out of their heads. It gives off really sweet vibes, and I hope you’ll check it out! Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lDhPjksqLQ

Got another one to share! I listened to this like 30 times a couple of days ago, really love the production on it, just the right mix of smooth and crunchy. Wow, she does have a very beautiful voice. I love Ingrid but I actually hadn't heard this one, it's very pretty (liked the bridge a lot in particular).Weird! I love it.

I mean, it does save me the time of having to decide on a favourite song, so thanks! 😂 I've spent most of the last 2 months listening to this year's Eurovision songs. I particularly like Iceland and Ukraine.

This is the song from my signature, Nouvelle Vague's version of All My Colours: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFXnekWbfXEThey're a french cover band, and I've loved them since my sister took me to one of their concerts years ago. I mean, it does save me the time of having to decide on a favourite song, so thanks! 😂I've spent most of the last 2 months listening to this year's Eurovision songs. I particularly like Iceland and Ukraine. You are so welcome. I'll let you know if you have any other favourites.

This song is a bit dark, but I love it:
The artist, Jonathan Young, is generally known for doing covers on YouTube, this is from his original album.

I’ve been listening to To Sir With Love on repeat, for some reason. Apart from that, I’m on my usual two-yearly McLean kick: youtu.be/TI9NjQK_xm8 (Castles in the Air, 1981 Believers version) Black Sheep Boy youtu.be/yKFc7npgDPA - Black Sheep Boy from F&R. Scott Walker’s version is decent too, but I prefer McLean’s. . oskarshai great to hear a song sung in an Aussie accent I know it’s not patriotic to be patriotic, but I love our accent.

My current music binge is Kate Miller-Heidke. I've been listening to pretty much all her music from Little Eve onwards (first full length album), but especially Nightflight (third album).
My favourites of her songs are: - The Tiger Inside Will Eat The Child - The Devil Wears A Suit - You've Underestimated Me Dude - Ernie - Amazing from the Muriel's Wedding musical (not PG!)

I've recently been listening to Dido's Don't Leave Home all over again. It's a little dark but it's gorgeous and the music video is a trip.

I have the Life For Rent album, so will sometimes hear that song when I have my music on random, but I haven't consciously thought about it for a while.

My music tastes are eclectic and odd but currently I tend to switch between the Hamilton soundtrack (for some reason it is apparently the ideal car nap music for my toddler) and stuff I mostly grew up with.
I also have a playlist of kpop and jpop because I've been listening to Asian pop music far longer than BTS has been around 🤣

youtu.be/PX70u0L_cfIAnd two versions of Govinda Damodar Madhaveti: Not too keen on the English fusion-y section of the second one, but oh well. I’m not religious, so I guess I’m not the target audience. ETA: Oh, Jahnavi Harrison grew up in ISKCON? Yeah, that would explain it.

I feel like you're never too old to be bamboozled or blindsided by love :/ And you're definitely right that there's this vibe to many TP ships. Oooh, thanks! I enjoy bhajans, so I know what to expect. I'll check this one out too!

You're amazing I think the very first one is my favourite but it's interesting to see how they can differ. Currently listening to a lot of covers of The Gael because someone reminded me of Last of the Mohicans:

It's really beautiful and a nice fresh take on the song. I'm very curious what fandom the vid was for! I was working on a "Don't Fear the Reaper" fanvid myself, using a different cover, for Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I actually managed to finish it and post to Youtube- unfortunately it got eaten by the copyright bots (I had some clips in it that were too long). To keep from derailing this any longer, here's the cover I was using, done by The Spiritual Machines:

I do feel like this cover evokes the Madoka OST with like the piano, the kind of pensive tempo and the choral elements coming in later. Shame about the copyright thing :/ I wish it was easier to post fanvids without getting copyright strikes. Mine was an American Horror Story vid (specifically season 8). Staying on topic, I started editing something to this track because I couldn't stop listening to it any other Sonic Youth fans out here?
