Hello members of Fief Goldenlake!
My name is Olivia, or Lady Olive of Masbolle, as it were.
I am completely new to the world of fandom... today new. I am tickled to have stumbled upon this forum. Although I am VERY late to the banquet, I am pleased the book room conversations are still taking place!
I have been a passionate Tammy fan since I first discovered Protector of the Small when I was around eleven... which was sixteen years ago... I wrote her a letter telling her how impactful the series was to me, and was over the moon when I received a letter in reply. I wish I had been with you all sooner, curse it! I know very few people in my personal life who have read her books, let alone revere them as I do.
I first read POTS, followed by The Immortals, then Song of the Lioness; which was a very fun way of getting acquainted with the Tortall universe; backwards! I have read her other Tortall series (which need revisits) and desperately need to read her other Universe!
Tortall and specifically Kel's books have saved me during this weird time of global pand(emonium)emic. I reread Alanna and Daine, and have been rereading/listening to POTS over and over. While Kel has always been an enormous role model for me, she has been my biggest source of motivation and inspiration during a time when I would rather just sleep all day. (Although the familiar ache of wishing I could be one Kel's year mates and a close friend to all of them, has returned.)
I look forward to engaging with you all and learning your thoughts from a thorough perusal of over a decade's worth of fan content.
Gods all bless,
Olivia
Edit: Just a teensy bit more about me as a human, I love art and theatre, animals and nature, and everything in between. I have valiant dreams of changing the world and making it a better place... hopefully some day. I used to be actively creative, but adulthood has been... draining. Perhaps being in this group will help inspire me to stretch those muscles again. I also pray my username isn't too cringe lol. Lady Olive is honestly my car's name haha
