It’s been a long time since I started a thread!
I want to ask about tattoos. I’ve been agonising over wanting one for probably 10 years, but could never commit to what I wanted. Probably not a bad thing, I really want to be sure of what I’m putting on my body.
So my question is, do any of you have tattoos? Do any of you have Tortall or Emelan tattoos? I think I want my first tattoo to be a Tammyverse tattoo, and I have half an idea, but I’d love other people’s thoughts and opinions of what to do. My half an idea is a silhouette tattoo in the shape of a sparrow with perhaps a scene depicted in it or some other important imagery. I’d love a scene but it has to be a scene that another Tammy fan would recognise. Maybe an Emelan scene since the sparrow is POTS?

The sparrow ideas sounds lovely!!
I have one tattoo that I got about 5 years ago now (that makes me feel incredibly old). It's a barn swallow, not a sparrow, but it's very cute. It's in a nest of roses and berries and it's on my hip. I'm not sure if I would ever get a tattoo that's overtly fannish, but I could see myself getting something that's a nod to a Tammy book.

Two of my friends have matching (or complementary) Tammy tattoos. They are a little shield-like shape with a bird (they each have a different one and I feel really bad because I can't remember what they are now...I think one is a sparrow for Kel and one is a crow for Aly) and at the bottom of the shield both tattoos say "saati". The tattoos are on their wrists and they're not tiny and it's interesting how easy it is to not see them or to forget they're there.
For a while when I was in my late teens/early twenties, I sort of wanted a tattoo, but I could never decide on anything and I grew away from the idea. Now I don't think I'll ever get one, but I have seen tattoos on other people that look really nice.

No tattoos for me. My partner and lots of my friends have tattoos and they're fine, but it's just not something I've ever desired to have for myself.
I know people who choose their tattoos just because they liked an image and thought it was cool, and people who could explain a deep personal meaning for every element. They all seem pretty happy with their ink.

If I ever get a tattoo, it’ll be a Tammy one, hopefully not too big. I like the idea of the thread circle from Emelan, but made of the element (thread for Sandry, fire for Daja, water or lightning for Tris and a vine for Briar).
If I can’t (either for medical reasons or just because I’m too scared of the needles), then I’ll just get a piece of fanart commissioned.

I am terrible with needles (nearly fainted getting my ears pierced, I was ten and my mother still hasn't let me live it down), but if I were to get a tattoo, I'd make it a Shakespeare line reference on the inside of my wrist, because I am horribly pretentious. And there's fewer characters in a line reference than in an actual line...

I have three small tattoos. One on my wrist, my first, which I felt regret about pretty quickly. It's two very small lines like a pause symbol or an equal sign when viewed on its sign. The color is what I regret, as I chose a reddish pink. This tattoo, and the one on my middle finger (three small dots like an ellipses) are both reminders to slow down and be thoughtful. I used to be incredibly impulsive and my actions often hurt myself or others, so I wanted a symbol to help me be more patient and calculated. Despite my regrets, I do think they have been helpful. I plan to get the same three dots on my thumb, as well.
I also have the three dots on my hip, just a friend messing around with stick-n-poke.
I also plan on getting a Tammy tattoo someday soon... Kel, to be exact. I did a drawing of a glaive I am pleased with, and above it in cursive either "goddess bless" or "gods all bless." I am considering adding an olive branch around it, somehow. A bit oxymoronic, but not without explanations. If I end up getting it, I will share a photo!
