Title: The Shivering Truth Rating: G Word count: 39 Summary: Ace!Sandry seeks comfort from her siblings. Notes: I want to stress that I see Sandry as someone who would be happy and comfortable with herself, but that even the most confident person will have doubts when the world around them is constantly bombarding them with images and messages that don't reflect them. Title is "The Shivering Truth" starring Janeane Garofalo.
‘I never really doubted you would love me any less,’ Sandry sobbed as the other 3 held her, ‘but sometimes it was hard to remember that when the world was telling me I wasn’t capable of real love myself.’

Ouch! Yes, I can so imagine Sandry feeling like this when she really starts thinking about marriage and long-term dating. It’s great to see her siblings accepting her.

I am glad that Sandry experiences this "real love" and acceptance from the other three members of the Circle. I do think it is one of the worst consequences of society's glorification of romantic love over all the other forms of love that in a way some of the purest forms of love like platonic friendship love and familial love are downgraded or presented as not being "real" love when of course they are totally and absolutely true love. And people who are asexual are very much capable of feeling love for family members and friends. Not all love is romantic love and society would do well to remember and value all kinds of love.
