What's your poison? I've been drinking a lot of black tea lately - just a straight-up tea with milk. It's a Tesco blend found at my supermarket - a tiny bit more costly than Dilmah, but it tastes so strong and so lovely with milk. Thanks to a friend, I've acquired this East Frisian tea I've been looking for for over a decade since I last laid my hands on it, and I'm so excited to be drinking it again

I love tea! Hot or iced, it doesn't matter. My favorite kinds include oolong, genmaicha, and plain green tea, but I will drink almost any kind you care to name.
I primarily drink mine plain, though some kinds will have me reaching for the milk and honey or stealing some of Mom's coffee creamer (mostly some kinds of masala chai). It got much easier for me to make tea when I bought my electric kettle. (Even though I accidentally managed to short out some of the house when I first started using it. Oops.)
I'll admit to having a problem when it comes to tea. There are so many times when I go to the grocery store only to come home with a new kind of tea! (There are not enough sampler packs sold in grocery stores...) I should take advantage of Adagio Teas' website's self-banning feature, that might help matters...
Something interesting the tea company I get my loose leaf tea from, Adagio Teas, does is allow people to create their own blends. Not just create their own blends- do fandom blends! (Sadly, I have yet to find any Tortall or Emelan inspired blends on the site.) I even wrote a Megamind fic around that concept, though it's in need of a serious rewrite and repost.
Wow, this got long, sorry...

Apart from water, tea is really the only thing I drink. During the summer, I drink a lot iced tea that I make myself. Usually I use herbal or fruity blends like mint, apple cinnamon, peach, or raspberry to make my iced tea. I either sweeten the iced tea with a touch of honey or have it unsweetened. Iced tea is great because I can make myself a whole pitcher of it at a time and keep it in my fridge for days, and iced tea is just so wonderfully refreshing.
Now that autumn is here, I've started to drink tea especially in the cooler evenings. I like the mint, apple cinnamon, peach, and raspberry blends I mentioned, but I also have Sleepytime Peach and Honey varieties that I enjoy when I want something to help me fall asleep. I also have a honey chamomile tea that is very soothing. For tea, I'll normally have it with a sprinkle of sugar and possibly a bit of milk.
All my teas come from Celestial Seasonings. Their flavors are awesome.

Ahhh Seek, I was already really excited to see you back on the board and now you've started a thread on my favourite topic! ๐ I also have a bit of a tea-buying problem and so have a lot of packets of tea at home in various stages of being used. I had to install a long shelf in my kitchen just for tea and tea ware! I drink almost everything, but mainly black, oolong, green, white and herbal teas. Occasionally I'll have Pu-erh or rooibos and I'm pretty much game to try any tea (except kelp tea!). I'm not a big fan of fruit blends, though I do like the sound of devilinthedetails' iced teas. I drink hot tea all year around, though a lot less in summer at home (work is air conditioned enough that it's fine). Iced tea is my drink of choice at a restaurant if I want something more than just water and they have a nice blend. I drink only loose leaf and get most of my teas from 2 Australian tea shops - The Tea Centre and Adore Tea. My absolute favourite blend ever is a black tea with cinnamon and rose petals, which they don't sell anymore, but I still have a good amount of it and recently acquired a new cinnamon blend that I think I can use to make my own. My next favourite tea is an Adore Tea original called Platinum Black, which is a black tea blend lighter than a traditional breakfast tea or Assam, but stronger than a Ceylon or Darjeeling. I also really love a good chai blend - none of this chai latte powder stuff for me! I am a massive tea snob (see above re only drinking loose leaf), complain about the instant hot water at work not being hot enough for my preferred tea and absolutely detest Earl Grey.

Wow, this got long, sorry...Do you do coldbrew when you mention iced? Yes on drinking oolong, genmaicha and plain green tea plain though; I have sometimes added milk to matcha because matcha lattes have corrupted me. I feel you so much on the tea hoarding though: I see shiny new teas, I get 'em, and then I have difficulties finishing them all off! So now I have a 1-in-1-out rule where I can't buy teas unless I've finished some. I've also been less tempted to magpie as I get older - likely because I'd now just kill for a nice cup of black tea with milk, preferably Assam or Irish Breakfast. devilinthedetails - Aaaah these sound amazing! I don't drink as much iced fruit tea as I should, and these sound fantastic for the hotter months, especially apple cinnamon or raspberry... Kypriotha - Yesss I feel the tea hoarder pains too! I really like my loose leaf, but I find tea bags useful for a quick 'dunk-and-run' when I'm rushing off to work in the morning, or so. It's where I am really grateful for being able to work from home this year: I've finally been able to help myself to a lot more loose leaf tea! That cinnamon and rose petals blend sounds amazing - it's always painful when a favoured tea place shuts down and then you have to figure out how to get your fix, moving forward!

My go-to blend is an organic Earl Grey, which I buy in bulk packs. It's got a nice bergamot flavour and isn't too floral or soapy like some Earl Greys can be.
Other than that, I have a blend of Sri Lankan orange pekoe, and a chai blend. I have several Chinese teas; some oolong, green tea that is very nice and mellow and made of whole very young leaves (I have no idea what it is really, because it was given to me and I can't read the Chinese), jasmine tea, puerh, and lapsang souchong. Japanese tea - I have some sencha, houjicha, and matcha.
The only herbal teas I have are peppermint and camomile. I'm not really a big fan of fruity or overly sweet flavoured teas, they're not my buzz.
I'm a snob too, in that I only buy loose leaf teas, though I will on occasion buy Twinings tea bags (Earl or Lady Grey) to drink at the office, because it's at least superior to the cheap tea bags that are generally supplied.
At home I also have one of those fancy Breville electric kettles that heats water to exactly the right temperature for different teas.
We joke in my family that the true black sheep is my one cousin who doesn't like tea but is otherwise normal. Not the one who took too many drugs when he was young and can't get his life together in his 40s, or the one with very bad taste in men, and not the one who was is known to prefer budgy smugglers over all other swimwear; no, they're all fine because they're tea drinkers. ๐

At home I also have one of those fancy Breville electric kettles that heats water to exactly the right temperature for different teas. I have that kettle too! It's my favourite (and most used) appliance. ๐ Haha, we have a similar vibe on my dad's side of the family, though not as openly acknowledged. If you ask certain great-aunts-and-uncles or second cousins if they want tea (or dessert) at family events, you're liable to be mocked or gently castigated for not immediately knowing they want tea (with the only relevant question being *how* they want their tea). Glad to know I'm not the only tea snob or tea obsessed family ๐

I love tea! I drink loose leaf at home (I've got a strainer mug, so it's super easy), but drink Clippers everyday tea when I'm in the office. I don't think there's many tea varieties I don't like, but I won't often choose chai or chamomile blends. When I'm at home, I have a Belle's Breakfast blend in the morning - it's from my favourite shop Bird & Blend, and is a mix of black teas and rose petals - and an Earl Grey blend which has vanilla (and blue cornflower which just makes it look really nice). I honestly never liked Earl Grey until they sent me a sample of theirs, and I'm hooked now. They also do a breakfast rooibos tea which I have if I feel like tea but don't want to over-caffeinate myself (I don't drink any coffee). The shop also does a lot of experimental teas, and has seasonal sampler packs. The autumn one is: Tea & Toast - Traditional English breakfast tea with sweet raspberry jam! Honeycomb Cookie Doh - Doh my goodness - cookies & (cream) tea! Violet Cream - Dark chocolate covered violets with vanilla notes Apple Cider Bobbing - Get bobbing for the perfect sweet & spiced apple tea Really not sure how I feel about the violet cream tea, but willing to try anything. Apple tea is something I got incredibly fond of in Turkey, and it's really hard to replicate that, but I'm hoping this will hit the spot Obviously some of their teas can be on the sweet side, so I tend to drink these ones post-dinner as a sort of dessert.

My partner is a coffee drinker, though not a snob about it and will occasionally drink tea. He knows to not interfere with my tea! I stand corrected, there ARE Tortall-inspired tea blends on Adagio's site! ...I may buy some. I don't know, I really shouldn't be buying tea right now...
I'm tempted to try and make some Emelan-inspired blends. Hmm... What flavors to go with which characters or concepts?

I've really gotten into herbal blends the last few years (especially when sick) - I should re-read the Emelan books and see what strikes my fancy this time around!
