Share your guilty pleasures, flowers and chocolates and be prepared to swoon,
because Goldenlake’s Romance Challenge is coming soon!
When Is It?
11 – 25 February
What Is It?
The Romance Challenge is a celebration of all things romance, in particular, the extravagance of romance tropes. Roger, the famed royal prizefighter, winning hearts across the bull-fighting circuit? Briar, falling in love against his will after the tragedies of war? Alanna goes to the convent before masquerading as a knight into Court?
From extravagant plots and angsty hijinks bordering on disbelief, to fluffy reunions and pursuits of true love, the Romance Challenge has something for everyone.
What Do I Do?
The aim of this event is to write romance-themed fic using common romance tropes or themes. If you need inspiration on romance tropes, TV Tropes is a good place to start.
If romance isn't your thing, you can subvert the tropes or give them a friendship twist! It's up to you - the main aim is to have fun playing with the tropes and themes.
