I’m so keen! Still sort of hopeful for Numair/Ozorne love-hate relationship, but will take what I can get, haha.
To be honest, I’m hoping for no romance at all - not meaning to harsh on people’s squee, just want to see what Tammy does with adult protagonists without defaulting to romantic/sexual relationships.
I much prefer deep friendships.

To be honest, I’m hoping for no romance at all - not meaning to harsh on people’s squee, just want to see what Tammy does with adult protagonists without defaulting to romantic/sexual relationships. I much prefer deep friendships. I'm also super excited for this book, mistrali. I found Varice and Ozorne really intriguing characters in Emperor Mage, and I am eager to see what Tammy does with them in this book. I also am very interested in what their earlier relationships (friendship and romantic both have appeal for me) with Numair were like. Apart from that, I am extremely happy to be visiting Carthak again. I find Carthak as a multicultural empire with its university so fascinating, and being able to spend so much time there just makes me so giddy. I can't wait to learn more about Carthak. I will be so overjoyed to have this book in my hands. So glad I pre-ordered from Amazon.

I've pre-ordered it on Kindle. February 6 is a public holiday in NZ, so I should be able to burn through a portion of it!

Nice Idleness! I've preordered my copy in hard copy. I don't know if Australia will get exactly the same release as the US, but I can't pick it up until the weekend anyway, so hopefully it'll be in by then 😊 Not long to go now!

Urgh, so I was sure it said 6 Feb on kindle when I pre-ordered, but when it didn't download automatically last week I went back to check and saw it was the 13th. I swear that date changed... Anyway, I have it now and I'll start reading this evening.

I have it on request at the library, but I’m keeping my eye on the spoilers in case I decide to cave and buy it...
