Title: Knight and Maid Rating: PG-13 Word Count: 189 Summary (and any Warnings): Implications, but nothing new to those familiar with Lalasa's past. Kel/Lalasa. A desperate palace maid finds her fate bound up with one of Tortall's most determined defenders... Notes/Links: N/A. I am bad at this trope thing, sorry :/

She is a woman haunted by a past she can’t quite escape…
Lalasa Isran thought she’d finally managed to leave her demons behind her, when she took up that job offer from her Uncle Gower at the king’s palace in Corus. The king’s servants, after all, are well-paid, and in a few years, she’ll be able to open that dress-making shop she’s dreamed of.
All her dreams are torn asunder the night one of the drunk nobles attempts to lay a hand on her. She breaks his fingers, and finds herself out of a job, and desperately in need of protection…
She is one of Tortall's best and brightest...
Lady Knight Keladry of Mindelan is a young, bold knight with a lot on her shoulders. She’s made a name for herself, shielding the weak and helpless against the depredations of fellow nobles. And when Gower knocks on her door with an offer, she finds herself intrigued…
The threads of fate have bound the Lady Knight and the palace maid together in a tangled web of deception, privilege, and courage. Will they manage to weave a bright future for themselves?

As soon as I saw the title I thought "please be Kel/Lalasa, please be Kel/Lalasa" and I was not disappointed! I love how you've used the typical romance blurb style of "she's a.../she's a..." and then woven it together beautifully at the end with all the thread/sewing imagery
