Notes/Links: Not inspired by any. Just inspired by curtain!fic conventions - Lord Sir Raoul of Goldenlake and Malorie’s Peak has a secret: he’s in love with his best friend. The problem is, he’s realised that far too late. Now, his childhood friend, Sir Francis of Nond is happily married, with a lovely wife and two beautiful children. It’s hard not to feel jealous, looking in on Francis’s perfect family…until one day, a terrible accident strikes, and Raoul finds himself thrust into the position of comforting his grieving friend. It’s only seldom that second chances come along. In the wake of tragedy, can two friends find solace in secrets unspoken and pick up the shattered pieces of their lives?

Oh, I love me some Francis/Raoul. This story sounds like it'd be so painfully melodramatic that I'd be laughing and groaning at the same time as I read it, which I guess means that you nailed it

Aww a horrible tragedy brings them together again! This bit alone Sir Francis of Nond is happily married, with a lovely wife and two beautiful children. gave me feels.
