Title: Friendly Fire Rating: G Word Count: 171 Summary (and any Warnings): A blurb for a Kel/Merric romance, set shortly after Lady Knight. I tried to work Dom into the blurb as a Romantic False Lead, but it interfered too much with my fire motif, sadly. Notes/Links: Tropes in use: Childhood Friend Romance, I Don't Want to Ruin Our Friendship, Color Motif (sort of), and of course Will They or Won't They and Purple Prose!
Lady Knight Keladry of Mindelan only has one weakness: her disconcerting tendency to fall in love with her friends! But when her dreamer’s eyes meet the mischievous ones of her friend Merric, she’s still surprised by the power of the spark that flies between them. Fiery Merric, with his flaming hair and frequent battle fever, is the absolute opposite of the serene and stoic Lady Knight, but as they say in Tyra; opposites attract! This is the second time Kel falls for a redheaded friend, and with Cleon the flame fizzled out as quickly as it flared up. It left her and her friend turned lover turned friend with a friendship in awkward tatters. Kel has learned the hard way that she cannot trust that the spark will last, but will she be able to resist the sapphire flame of Merric’s eyes? Friendship can ignite into passion, but can passion turn into a steady burning love? And can the Protector of the Small protect her own heart from breaking yet again?

I love how far you pursued the analogy lol (because harlequin perfection, man). Also the line "It left her and her friend turned lover turned friend with a friendship in awkward tatters." And the last line.
This is really well done haha.

I like this spin on Kel/Merric. I particularly like all the fire references
