Title: Fairytales
Rating: PG
Word Count: 577
Pairing: Alanna/Jonathan
Round/Fight: 3A
Summary: Alanna tells a bedtime story, and everyone has their own opinion.
Once upon a time there was a prince.
There was a prince, and yes, I know that’s not how the story usually starts.
There is a princess. Hush, I’ll get there, if you’d let me get past the first sentence of the story.
But anyway, there was a prince, and he was the heir of a vast kingdom. He was beloved by his people, and his parents’ only child. As such, he entered page training, and eventually became a squire.
What did I just say? I’ll get to the princess, now let me continue.
As the prince grew older, other monarchs began to bring their princesses to Court, in hopes that the prince would fall in love with one of them. You see, he happened to be a very handsome prince.
Yes, yes, much like your father. Yes, I know.
However, your father—I mean, the prince—was not very interested in the princesses that tried to catch his attention. He danced with all of them, and had courtly manners, but he never fell in true love with them.
Eventually, the other kingdoms began to think that the prince was a very spoiled prince, and the princesses began to leave the kingdom, one by one. This made the king and queen very sad, and they began to worry.
The prince didn’t care, and in fact, he began to think that it was a good thing that he hadn’t married any of those princesses, because they weren’t good enough for him anyways. He became a knight, and like the other kingdoms had thought, he became spoiled.
Now you’re interrupting too? –It’s my story, I’ll tell it how I like. You can tell your own story later.
Anyways, children, the closest friends that the prince had saw all of this begin to happen. And they knew that deep down he wasn’t all that bad—
--please stop interrupting—
--but something had to be done, and quick.
So his most loyal and devoted friend, when she became a knight, went on a quest to help her prince. She ended up in the desert, in a tribe like the one that you belong to, yes, and she spent a good long time there, thinking about what to do. When the prince missed her enough, he tried to follow her, and they had a very un-royal fight.
The knight didn’t feel like the prince trusted her to take care of herself, and she set out to prove to him just how much she could do. Her quest led her around the world, and there are many other stories to be told later about all of her adventures, but when she came back to her prince, she brought him the most valuable treasure.
Yes, it did help save his life, how did you know that? In fact, the knight saved his life on the very day that he was crowned king.
Alright, alright. He was crowned king, and after the evil sorcerer was defeated, she let him kiss her—
--oh, that is most certainly how it happened, thank you very much.
--She let him kiss her, and she asked him to marry her. –Yes, it was my idea. Hush.—
Luckily for her, the prince said yes, and they lived happily ever after.
--Ok, so there was no princess, but there’s a knight who became a queen. Isn’t that better, anyways?
