Title: Spectrum Rating: G Word Count: 174 Pairing: Crane/Lark/Rosethorn Round/Fight: 1B Summary: The joy of giving. Prompt: colour
Lark unfolds the parcel with careful fingers, her lips pressed into a line, then folds it again, smoothing away imaginary creases. “I want him to like it.”
“He will,” says Rosethorn. The tone of her voice suggests that she will ensure it herself, if necessary. “Though I still don’t know why you picked blue.”
Rosie likes to tease her about caring too much—about being a people-person, as though the very idea is peculiar. She supposes that it is. How could she explain? The people dear to her are details in the fabric, a safety-net, familiar tremors along her web; each of them she knows by heart, and what they represent. Moonstream is an open palm, Sandry the tug of thread through cloth. Rosethorn is the earth beneath her feet.
Crane is fresh rainfall, pattering against glass. He keeps himself apart, aloof, but she knows that all he needs is time to see his place.
She leaves the parcel and takes Rosie’s hand, interlacing their fingers. “It doesn’t matter,” she answers. “I know why.”

Awww. The imagery of the rain fit in perfectly here. Nice job, wordy!

I love the dialogue here; they don't say much, but then, I don't think that they talk overly much anyways. But it's a really cute fic and the dialogue is well done
