Round/Fight: 1/B
Summary: Sometimes the Lady Knight has to be goaded into caring for herself.

“You’re just so practical, Lady Kel!” and the cry is one of mixed parts exasperation and affection. It does seem more the former than the latter though, and Kel frowns in surprised confusion.
Lalasa, for her part, stands with her hands upon her hips, tucked into the slight form of her waist, brows drawn down by a fearsome scowl that Kel can’t remember ever seeing before.
“I... well...” and she pauses, for once in her life quite at a loss. It is true. She is practical, and somehow the little sparrow Gower had once spoken of has gone off and turned into a full fledged griffon.
“I just...” and the words hang again as she realizes she has no idea at all what to say. She shuts her mouth. Lalasa’s brow wrinkles further.
“Lady Kel...” and the wrinkles, she realizes, are now of concern and not vexation, and something inside Kel lets go. She slumps. Lalasa bites her lip, then sits next to her at the window.
“I just meant, that...”
“I know what you meant.” Kel’s smile is exhausted, but genuine, and she wonders how tired she must look to make Lalasa worry so.
“I just meant Lady Kel, that you’ll do the greatest kindnesses for those you care about, and yet allow yourself no quarter.” She pauses, searching for the words. “You’re not at war any longer. Surely you can afford yourself such a small luxury. It is, after all, only a few days of rest.”
Kel glances up, surprised. She takes a moment to consider this. Finds the truth in it. She nods.
“Perhaps....” she murmurs glancing down at the floor, “I could let my practicality give way. Just this once, you understand.”
And Lalasa laughs, one arm sliding around Kel’s shoulders in a friendly hug. “I think that’s a fantastic idea.”
