Title: Better Than None Rating: G Prompt: #63 Kissing Frogs Summary: OTPPPPPP! Or, the one where Sandry and Briar have a lovers' tiff.
"Does it please you to be irritating?" Sandry asked, though she already knew the answer. Her Uncle's dinner had been perfectly pleasant until Briar had taken a dislike to the young man sitting across from him. "Irritating? The bag didn't even have enough brains to realise I was insulting him." She glared at him in her mirror, pausing with her hands halfway to her hair. "And that makes it okay for you to insult my guests?" He shrugged and crossed his arms. Completely insufferable, she thought furiously. "The Duke didn't seem all that impressed with him either. But I suppose it would have been hard for you to notice, my lady, what with your nose in the air the whole evening." That hurt more than it should have. Her hand shook as she picked up her brush. Briar's teasing had never had much effect on her before - everyone knew she could give as good as she got! - but this was really too much. "If you find it so difficult to be civil to my suitors," she said tightly, avoiding his eye in the mirror, "then perhaps it would benefit us all if you turned down Uncle's next invitation to dinner." "Fine." He didn't slam the door on his way out, but she still felt herself rock in her seat. After a moment, she resumed brushing out her hair. Not a pleasant evening at all.

Glad you liked it! ;D I love the idea that they like each other but both of them refuse to be the first to admit it!
