Title: Seeing Rating: PG Prompt: #62: That Awkward Moment Summary: Lianne realizes her son has changed. A/N: That awkward moment when you realize you've written something depressing for a prompt that supposed to be funny. Her mother had told her at her wedding as she arranged her hair for the last time that it was an awkward thing to realize that your child was no longer a child. Here she was, so many years later, watching her only son smile hollowly at Josiane, seeing every remnant of his last love on his face and no ring on his finger, seeing with a mother’s perspicacity exactly what he wanted from the lovely princess with his smile, his manners, his charm. So many years later, Lianne agrees with her mother.

Aw, I think this is an excellent response to the prompt. The underlying sexuality of it really IS awkward, and I like it quite a lot!

Thanks--looking back on the series, I felt really bad for Lianne in this scene.
