To: Rosie Message: It’s not exactly what you were looking for in your prompt, but it meshes with what you suggested on Twitter. Merry Christmas! From: Lisa Title: Domestic Bliss Rating: G Words: 200 Wishlist Item: #5 – Life at Dunlath Summary: Maura gets to spend Midwinter with her future in-laws, and without her betrothed. “You’re incredibly good for my son,” the baron said, smiling at Maura. “It’s nice to see him focused on his work, and preparing for a life with you.” Maura blushed. George, in some ways, was more attractive than his son. His eyes were remarkably like Alan’s, and it was easy to imagine Alan looking like this, twenty or thirty years down the road. With lighter hair, of course, and his mother’s smile. Or grimace, Maura thought, glancing at the lady knight. “It’s a shame he couldn’t be here for Midwinter, but it was nice of you to invite us, just the same.” “Help me with this garland, George,” Alanna demanded. She was wrapped up in evergreen and her violet eyes flashed at their choked-back laughter. She’d taken on the task of decorating Dunlath Castle, after a poorly chosen bet with Douglass. “I don’t get to be a knight in shining armor very often,” George said with a wink before going over to assist his wife. “This is the life you’ll have to look forward to, once you’re married.” It was impossible not to miss Alan as she watched the couple bicker over Midwinter decorations. This would be her life, someday.

You are wonderful, and I must throw more ideas at you because they produce beautiful moments like this :* I missed Alanna's bet with Douglass when I read it over before - I'm always charmed by the way you represent their relationship.

Aww, this is adorable. I love how Maura fits into the family just as well as she's implied to fit with Alan. It strikes me that it would make all the difference in the world.

This is lovely. I love Maura's easy relationship with George and how prickly Alanna is
