What movies - new or old - have you seen recently?
I watched Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace on the weekend. I loved them WAY more than when I saw them the first time (in the cinema, with each). They were way better watched close together, at home.

Last film I saw at the proper talkies was the remake of the 13 Assassins. It was pretty epic.
And I watched Curse of the Golden Flower last week, which was cool because Chow Yun Fat is soooooooo fine in that movie, omg.

My Dad and I watched Antz recently (now he's watching A Bug's Life). I'd forgotten how clever Antz is and how much it reflects things in modern culture.

^My philosophy lecturer brought Antz up in relation to the Frankfurt school last semester.
I also watched this old school movie called The Torch which had this very beautiful sequence in it the other day. And parts of It's Complicated with mum tonight, but it was pretty dull.

I watched The Tourist because my dad bought the dvd (we originally saw it at the cinema). I think it's better the second time you watch it, since you can pick up things you didn't the first time and you know about the ending. I also rewatched Primal Fear. Edward Norton is so brilliant.

I have seen so many movies this week! Well, for me, anyway. I've seen Notting Hill (one of my all time favorite movies), Love Actually and The Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan. That one was really fun to watch. I hadn't seen it in ages, but my sisters and I watched it frequently when we were younger (cos it was one of the best videos we had), so seeing it was a fun little stroll down memory lane

I spent the weekend at my sister's, and we managed Love Actually and Gremlins, which her boyfriend insisted was essential to get us into the Christmas spirit (I actually adored it, it just amused me how he pushed it on us).

I watched the start of Cars for the first time last night (before then I'd only seen the end twice). Not one of Pixar's best, but still a funny movie.

First two Bourne films, and True Romance, which my sister's boyfriend described as a rom-com, a little like Indiana Jones. It isn't.

On DVD: Lion King (Still awesome after 20 years)

Just finished watching Bran Nue Dae (an Australian movie musical) on TV. It was quite good - very funny (very Australian humour). And it had so many famous Australian celebrities! They all did excellent jobs

I just saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It was quite intense and Rooney Mara is fantastic! Long though, but worth it.

Have you seen the original, Allie? As much as I love Daniel Craig, I don't think I'll see it. I saw The Muppets with my mum recently. It was really fun, plus all the cameos were awesome.

Ooh, I really want to see The Muppets, but I think I will probably see the new Ghibli film Arrietty first.
I watched some of Horton Hears A Who yesterday. I was really impressed with its political and moral messages.

Finally got around to seeing The Muppets yesterday. It was pretty good - the songs were all hilarious and the cameos, as Em said, were awesome. The Toy Story short before it was also awesome

The Grey. I've seen worse, but I've seen Tommy so that doesn't mean much. This movie was bad. It couldn't decide what it wanted to be and so, rather than incorporating elements of other genres, it was simply an amalgamation with no center.

I finally saw Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Pretty awesome! I really want to read the book now. And Crazy, Stupid Love, which was awesome too. Ryan Gosling was gorgeous and hilarious in it. I also watched Drive, and it was AMAZING.

I've been watching The Twilight Saga movies quite a bit lately. They are hilarious, and the music is nice to write to.

The Help, The Three Musketeers, and Warrior. When I saw that Warrior's out on dvd, I squealed and bought it immediately. Then forced my sister to watch it with me, and she in turn was forced to admit that it's awesome. Next I need to get my dad to watch it. I think my mum is a lost cause, though, since she was the one who refused to see it with me at the movies. I'll get her one day... And now I have to stop myself from watching it every single day.
