Title: Breathe Rating: PG Word Count: 133 Pairing: Aly/Taybur Round/Fight: 1/D Summary: Breathe.
Breathe.
Of course, Taybur didn't trust anything, especially not a voice in his head that sounded like his mother, whom he knew very well had died many years ago.
Breathe. More insistent this time.
Dragging Dunevon's body to the surface, he clawed his way up the rope that one of the crew had thrown to him. In his rational mind, he knew Dunevon was dead. The boy had been under the water too long.
On deck, he wrapped the small body in red, his hands trembling.
When they limped into port, broken, he could feel Aly's eyes on him. Not accusing, which was good. He wouldn't be able to take her blame.
Standing there, with all eyes on him, and Dunevon's cold form dragging him down, down, down... he couldn't help but wonder why he'd decided to breathe again.
There was nothing left to live for.

So very good! I loved the description of the voice, I loved the idea of the scene you wrote and I loved the emotions here. Perfect!
