Title: Different (Dignity) Rating: PG Word Count: 163 Pairing: Kel/Maura Round/Fight: 2/D Summary: Douglass notices something different
“There is something different about you tonight, my dove,” Douglass announced to Maura.
Maura rolled her eyes, and continued on her needlework. “If you are about to tell me you noticed I bathed, or something awful along those lines, I will throw this cushion at you.”
Douglass smiled. “Nothing of the sort; but there is something substantially different about you. You are looking more relaxed than I have seen you in a long while, you are not pouring over maps or reports, and you are doing needlework happily.” He paused. “It looks like kissing Keladry agrees with you.”
“What?” squawked Maura, flustered. “How did you know?” She frowned. “Really Douglass, I was so careful. Did Kel tell you?”
Douglass chuckled. “My dear, I did not know for certain until just now.” He winked. “I’m glad you’re having some fun though, even it is with our rather dour Lady Knight.”
Maura frowned. “She’s not dour. She’s just… serious.”
Douglass smirked. “If you say so.”
