Title: Unsure
Rating: PG
Word Count: 326
Pairing: Gary/Raoul – Team Moustache Curtains
Round/Fight: 2/C
Summary: Cause when a heart breaks no it don’t break even. Cythera brings Gary tea; is this the first sign of reconciliation? Breakeven part 20, set post-Lioness Rampant.
Cythera thinks to catch Gary before he dives into his work for the day, so she takes a tray of tea and biscuits up to his rooms. She hopes it will count as an apology, one she’s afraid to speak since they haven’t talked at all since that day when they argued, and she hopes he’ll be in a better mood, perhaps because of it.
Raoul’s been gone, out with the King’s Own, for several days now; surely Gary’s temper towards his former best friend has had time to cool off, too… Hopefully by now he’s tired of fighting with people.
There’s no answer at the door to his personal rooms, and with a sinking feeling in her stomach, Cythera finds herself staring at her upraised hand for long moments before knocking on the door to Gary’s study.
She’s surprised when it swings open on its own, even more surprised to see Gary asleep, face down, at his desk.
She places the tray on his desk, away from the scraps of parchment wreathing his head, before glancing at what Gary was working on before he fell asleep.
The parchment scattered and crumpled across his desk are full of ink spots and black cross outs.
Raoul—
Have you ever thought of seeing a healer about your drinking? I know you don’t think it’s a problem, but it is, and
Dear Raoul—
I think you have a problem, your drinking is getting out of hand and I don’t like
Dear Raoul—
I’m sorry for yelling the other day, but you
Raoul—
I can’t stand fighting with you anymore, and if you would just stop
I hate it when we fight. Please come talk to
A small smile brushes Cythera’s lips as she moves Gary’s bottle of ink away from his right hand so he doesn’t spill it when he wakes up, and she crosses her fingers and leaves Gary’s study.
