Title: Weddings (I) Rating: G Length: 134 words Competitor: Alanna Round/Fight: 3/A Summary: Alanna reflects on the practicality that is Kel.
-----
Alanna leaned into George, his arm comfortably draped over her shoulders, and watched Kel stride forward with more shyness than usual. It was sweet; she remembered well how shy she herself had been all those years ago. She wore a plain russet gown, embroidered with nothing more than the crest of Mindelan, but her former maid had managed to do something pretty with her short hair and had shaded her face with subtle paints to bring out her best features.
It was a simple wedding, and pretty in its unpretentiousness—Keladry was nothing if not practical. Alanna was only grateful that she was not prone to be an empty-headed court lady.
Of course, she would not like the younger woman as near as much as she did if she was anything but herself.
