Title: Heal Me Rating: PG Length: 145 words Competitor: Baird Round/Fight: 1/D Summary: Now that it’s all over, Kel finds solace in the most surprising of places.
It has begun to grate on me, this notion of sneaking around. I don’t like secrets, and I don’t like hurting people – yet here I am, doing what I’ve been doing. Neal questions the dark circles under my eyes; he initially suspects that I’m worrying about New Hope, now that we’ve been pulled to Northwatch and the town is left to handle itself.
How can I tell him that my heart is breaking over his father?
When it reaches the point where I can bear no more, and I end things with Baird, he finds me weeping in my room. He says nothing, but lies down beside me, spooning me and wrapping his arms around me.
“Healers aren’t supposed to hurt people,” he whispers, revealing what he knows. I can hear anger and betrayal in his voice, along with disappointment. But I also hear concern.

Neal makes a point to know everything - if he can.
