“Oh s*** - I think I ripped something.”
“I don’t care.”
“But I like this dress!”
“Fine, I’ll get Lalasa to fix it. Now shut up and kiss me.”

The next morning, Kel washed her face with a contented sigh. “The heat is really getting unbearable. I wish I could just lie in the bath all day.”
“So why don’t you? You’re not doing anything today.”
Kel looked at Faleron with a slight frown. “But I was going to go see Raoul. I promised I’d help him do inventory for the Own.”
“Why in the gods’ name did you do that?”
Kel tiptoed around the pile of crumpled blue silk on the floor and sat on the edge of the bed. “I like being useful. Besides, it’s...fun.”
“Fun.” Faleron raised an eyebrow.
Kel shrugged. “I like math.”
Pulling her down beside him, Faleron snaked an arm around her middle. His hair tickled her on the neck, his face pressed into the hollow of her shoulder. “Forget Raoul. Forget inventory. Stay here with me.”
Kel laughed, and when he looked up she pressed a quick kiss on his forehead. “What, all day?”
“Yes.”
Letting her head flop back against the pillow, Kel considered. Raoul and math, or Faleron and...
“Fine, you’ve convinced me,” she said with a smile. Faleron grinned back at her.
“Wait,” he said, propping himself up and looking her in the eye. “There’s a condition.”
“There is.”
“Yup,” he said, grinning. “You have to stay naked all day.”
Kel gave him a look, but he just laughed. She liked the way he laughed; he threw his head back, and she had a full view of his perfect neck and the path down to his collarbone.
“Well?” he asked.
“Okay,” she agreed, getting up from the bed—which took a few tries, since Faleron was rather reluctant to let her go—and walking back over to the bathroom. “But you have to wash my back,” she called over her shoulder.
"Deal."
