Title: Preference Rating: PG Length: 185 Summary: Okha wants to know what Nestor's sexual preference really is.
“I'm not certain I understand.”
“Is now really the best time for conversation?”
“Please, I need you to listen for just a few moments.”
“Yes, of course. What is it?”
“You . . . your taste is for men.”
Looking down at the beautiful Carthaki sprawled beneath him, Nestor grinned. “I would have thought that was obvious, Okha.”
“But I'm not a man. Not truly, in heart or mind. Doesn't . . . doesn't that change anything?”
His gaze softened and he reached out, tracing his thumb over his lover's lips. He trailed his fingers over Okha's smooth, brown skin, followed the line of one delicate cheekbone, and wrapped them in the black, silken hair as he pressed a warm kiss against the singer's mouth.
When he drew back, he smiled gently. “Okha, I'm not going to deny that I enjoy your body. But honestly, I don't think it would matter if you were cove, mot, or Stormwing. As long as you'll have me, I'm yours.”
This time, he leaned down to kiss away his lover's tears.

Mmph. Lovely! I'm just re-reading Bloodhound now and those two make me happy. Also, well done for circumventing the book's pronoun inconsistencies by leaving them out all together for Okha. *grin*

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you noticed the pronoun thing. They always bug me when I'm writing these two. ^_^
