Title: Hide and Seek
Rating: G
Summary: Roger plays a game of hide and seek. But mostly seek.
Author's Note: I fail at comedy, so I'm trying to improve. And Roger seems to be the perfect character to do that with
"Roger?"
The Duke of Conte yelped, almost slamming his fingers in the drawer. Straightening, he turned to look behind him. Don't look guilty. Just...act normal. King Jonathon stood in the doorway, a frown on his handsome face. "What in Mithros' name are you doing in here?"

"Er," Roger searched his memory. "The little one. You know, such a cute little thing. Only so high," he said, lowering his hand to about knee height, "Cute as a button."
"With one of the children?" asked Jonathon.
"Naturally," answered Roger, stroking his perfectly trimmed beard. "I love the little ones. Adorable."
"I see," said the king. "Who was it this time? Running off and hiding where they shouldn't, I suppose?"
"Oh, it was little...Kala."
"Kally?"
"That's what I said." Roger held his breath while Jonathon looked at him. Finally, Jonathon smiled. "Well, have fun then. I've got to go see how Zahir, I mean, my squire..." he trailed off, eyes darting about nervously. "Work to do," he finished, before turning and exiting quickly. Roger breathed a sigh of relief.
"Now," he said, turning back to the set of drawers and adjusting his lacy sleeves. "Where did she put that tiara?"
