Title: The Last Song Rating: PG Length: 146 Summary: Kalasin sings her last song, and has her last thought . . . Author’s Notes: PG for character deaths
Kalasin stared down at the ground from her vantage point at her window. She heard the men pounding on her chamber doors. She knew what was coming. But no longer would she be a pawn. She had watched her people and those of her husbands fight for years. The blood shed, the lives lost, had tainted and desecrated the great land she had once loved. “Kalasin! We can hold them no longer!” her faithful servants voice called out, as she heard the solid wood finally crack from the pounding of the men outside. She didn’t stop in her singing her song of shame. Even as she heard the cries of her faithful companion and her son as their lives were ended by the blade. Then she finished. Her last thoughts were of her daughter, Thayet jian Wilima, that she had sent away. And then she jumped.

So sad. I like that you've shown this from Kalasin's viewpoint, it makes it that much more sad and chilling, especially because she can hear Buri's mother and son being killed outside.

D: Very sad!! What a tragic story to tell, but I love how beautifully you did it. My heart went straight to Kalasin while reading this, and I could imagine being in her place!
