Title: Squeaky clean
Rating: R
Words: 516
Pairing: Goodwin/Ahuda
Summary: Goodwin and Ahuda head to the baths after a tiring shift...
A/N: I'm picturing them as younger in this, maybe about 8 years before Terrier.
“Goodwin, you’re coming with me.” Clary raised her eyebrows as Ahuda passed a coin to the attendant and asked for a private room with a bath. The attendant nodded and motioned for them to follow her. “Come on,” said Ahuda. “There are things we need to discuss.”
She was right of course, they did need to discuss her latest Dog task, but as Clary eased her aching body into the warm water she resented that she couldn’t just enjoy it. The stupid scuts had given her several nasty bruises. Still, it was nice to have peace and quiet, as well as plenty of space in the large tub.
Ahuda seemed to be enjoying the water as much as she was, but it didn’t stop her from launching straight into the Dog discussion. Clary rolled her eyes and resigned herself to it.

“That’s enough talking for now,” Ahuda finally said. “Come over here, and I’ll wash your back.”
She hadn’t expected Ahuda to suggest something like that, but she supposed she might as well let her. It’s not like Tom was around to wash her back for her anyway. She turned, facing away from Ahuda, and felt movement behind her. Gentle hands moving over her back soothed her, and helped to ease her aching muscles. She couldn’t help but arch her back in pleasure, which caused a soft chuckle to come from behind her.
“Mmm, it’s nice,” she murmured. Clary couldn’t remember when she’d closed her eyes, but she opened them quickly enough when she realised the hands had now travelled around to her stomach.
Maybe this is just what they do in Carthak, she told herself. Besides, it feels sort of nice…there’s no need to stop her now.
She was just beginning to relax again when the hands travelled even higher up. She clamped her mouth shut to stifle a squeak and scooted away, flustered. What was wrong with her? Clary Goodwin was never flustered. Everyone knew that.
“Um,” she managed. “I think my back’s clean now.” She turned back around. “I’ll do yours.”
Ahuda was still very close to her. “You don’t get it, do you?”
“What don’t I –“ she was cut off by Ahuda’s mouth pressing against hers.
“Don’t tell me you didn’t enjoy that,” the older woman said as she pulled away a couple of minutes later. “You were kissing me back.”
Clary was silent momentarily, and then looked her steadily in the eye. “I’m married,” she replied. “And I’m not leaving my husband.”
“Leave him? As in, live with me instead?” Ahuda gave a snort of laughter. “Gods, no! We’d be tearing each other’s hair out after a week.”
Now that she mentioned it, that would probably be about right. “What is…this, then?”
Ahuda shrugged. “Nothing serious. Just a bit of fun on the side, if you want it.”
Clary considered this. “Do you think you need to convince me?”
A finger casually traced its way over her knee. “It depends if you want to be convinced.”
The corner of Clary’s mouth turned up, and she leaned forward. “I’d like that.”
