Title: The Sound of the World Rating: PG Prompt: feelings and emotions Category: up to 250 words drabble Word count: 146 words Summary: It’s a year of death and Clary Goodwin mourns. Additional Notes: This is for Lilac and Ren and their Clary/Rosto challenge! -
The sky is red with blood and the war that looms ever on the horizon. She is sitting on the edge of a fountain in the Lower City, her head in her hands as she gazes without seeing at the laundress working near her. Dip, rinse, wring – it’s a rhythmical motion and mindless repetition is all that carries her through these days.
When he sits beside her, Rosto touches her shoulder and she starts. “I’m sorry, Goodwin,” he tells her, expression closed that she doesn’t see his feelings. “Your husband – and then Beka – I can’t –”
Without answering, she gropes for his hand, and for a moment they are silent together. When he turns his face down and she turns hers up, their kiss is full of comfort and longing and Clara Goodwin doesn’t cry but she wishes for a lifetime that had once been hers.

I don't know whether to be happy that you've written a drabble with Clary in it, or throw a tantrum because you killed Tom. Either way, I think that you've written this fantastically! All the description in here is really great. And yay for Clary/Rosto!

I love how I can really see this happening. That's the result of a talented, talented writer.
