Title: Not All-Powerful Rating: PG Prompt: #3: Same but different Category: 100 words Word Count: 100 words Summary: Implied Spoilers for Will of the Empress. Berenene realises that if Ishabal and Quenaill are not all powerful, then neither is she.
Her fingers trail over his strong nose, smooth wrinkles in her fair skin. They share the same look in their eyes, of duty, affection, even on vellum. Her fingers can trail over their files, without looking for her youngest niece, or his failed betrothal. She knew them better then she knows her daughters, knows they have done everything to protect her. She’s never questioned why until now, the motherly instinct or alpha-male lust.
They have served her well. They will continue to do so, though now she knows they are not all-powerful. They can be bested, so too can she.

They can be bested, so too can she.I haven't read Will of the Empress, but I can still appreciate a diamond line when I see one.
