Title: Aura Rating: G Prompt:#1 - colour
It was not often that a Doi woman travelled to Corus. On the rare occasion that one did, George always made a point of speaking with her.
“It was not your intention to have your future read.” The Doi woman didn’t ask, she simply knew.
“The one you seek has an aura of fiery red. A raging storm – strong, determined, stubborn.” Her voice was soft, she spoke with a slight drawl.
George smiled. That was his lass. “And I?”
“You. You are a soothing blue. A calm flowing river. At your will this river can turn into a deadly storm. It is the prefect antidote to fire”

Aw, very sweet. It's interesting to see George associated with blue, since that's usually relegated to Jon.

Bonus points to you for using the Doi! I like the Doi, but they get used so rarely that I forget about them.
I like how you grouped the characters according to the four elements. Now you have me thinking about it!
I would also pick fire for Alanna, and fire for Jon and Thayet. But I think I would pick earth for George. And air for Alex and Liam. I don't know who would be water...
Do you think the Gift has anything to do with the elements? I know a lot of fantasy writers often incorporate them into magic or fighting skills (Robert Jordan, Avatar).

While I was writing it the thought did occur to me that blue (especially royal blue) was a colour associated with Jon and the Conte's but I liked the idea of George as a calm stream so he was therefore blue. In my head anyway. I was thinking colour wise and not so much about the elements when I wrote it.
The notion that the gift is influenced by the elements is an interesting one, though.

I really like this. I love the whole Doi thing and the way you associated the colours with elements.

Aww, yes. I love the idea of George being the water to Alanna's fire (although, I will admit that the line about 'plenty of fish in the sea than Prince Jonathan' popped into my head, and turned into a rather interesting re-interpretation, to say the least). It's so true. Great drabble!

This was really interesting. Yes, George as the cool blue to Alanna's hot red makes a lot of sense. And incorporating the Doi was a really nice reason to have an outsider tell George about his life.
