Title: Well...
Rating: PG
Prompt: 11. all cities were the same
Summary: Tris comes back to Emelan and really talks to Franzen.
Tris heaves herself off the cranky old horse. "Don't think much of you either." Tris grumbles to the horse, it glares at her, its eyes bored.
"So, here we are, just a couple more miles to the Duke's Citadel where you will reunite with your lover and share a long passionate kiss and you will tell each other how -"
"Evvy, you are so cliche."
Evvy rolls her eyes, "Let's get going, why do you need to stretch so much?"
"I'm tired." Tris answers shortly, but inside, she was counting the seconds before she and Franzen jumped into each other's arms and - oh crud, Evvy's right. I am secretly a romantic and hopeless.
Soon enough, Evvy and Tris arrive at the Duke's Citadel.
They walk through the doors.
They walk up to the guest quarters.
"Well isn't Franzen supposed to jump out and turn you around and tell you that he loves you?" Evvy asks flatly.
"Maybe he's angry at me or doesn't know I'm here."
"Please, the whole realm could hear that crazy horse!"
"Evvy, you're a lost cause." Tris says through giggles.
But as soon as they settled down, Tris felt heavy again. "Let's just get some rest." She whispers, they head on into their rooms.
--
"Tris?" A deep, manly voice wakes Tris up from a fitful sleep.
"Go away, Briar. I'm tired."
A chuckle... all to familiar...
"Franzen!" Tris screeches snapping out of her sleep into his arms.
"Trisana, you're as beautiful as ever."
Tris remembers herself and groans "It's Tris, for -"
Tris didn't finish her sentence as Franzen whirls her around. Finally, he settles her down, Tris flops onto her bed.
"Trisana, Trisana." Franzen murmurs affectionately. Tris looks up into his eyes, her cheeks suddenly pink.
Their eyes lock for a heart-stopping second. Franzen's lips slide into Tris's, finally he let go. Franzen's eyes crinkle with amusement, he dives in again, passion and heat rising. Franzen let Tris go, Tris breathes in a slow, ragged breath. "So, am I officially courting you?" In reply, Tris kisses him back, a smile playing on her lips.
--
"Tris, I've been meaning to ask you," Franzen starts. "Well, tell me something about yourself that I don't know."
Tris laughs as she plops herself in front of him. "Well... that's a harder question then you think." Franzen looks into her eyes and picks up one of Tris's hands and kisses it. "Tell me something that's affected you or something that's meaningful."
"Um, well," Tris breaths in deeply and continues. "I've always just wanted to runaway from my problems. Well, it seemed like the only thing to do. I've tried to see all the places I've been or are past Emelan and just wanted to stay there, become a new person."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I've always been either, the scary girl who has sparks in her hair, the scary girl who can destroy fleets of pirates, or the scary girl who's mage's kit is her hair that can do wonders."
"Oh." Franzen says. "Well, what made you hold back, stay here?"
"Sandry, Daja, Briar, the Dedicates... " Tris trailed off as she glanced up at him, her face turning rosy. "And... you."
Tris and Franzen smiled and joked the rest of the night about there childhood and lives, the whole time holding each other's hands.
