Title: Royal Rating: G Prompt: #7 (Excess) Words: 33 Summary: Jon reflects on being Royal A/N: I wanted to try doing a one sentence response to the prompt. Let me know what you think!
- - -
As he careless ripped open the bodice of – what was her name again? Felicia? Doanna? (Perhaps that was her sister?) – he thought to himself that maybe, just maybe, being Royal was worth it.

Oooooh man. That's the other side of Jon, and absolutely wonderful. Great way of conveying excess. It isn't (ironically) excessively portrayed, nor is it in an excessively long response.

I the idea of a one-sentence response (and for the excess prompt, it's so wonderfully ironic). This made me really pity Jon for some reason, which I found very interesting considering the scene described- I guess there's something tragic about it for me, knowing how soon his carelessness and excess will be taken away by duty, and reminded me of everything he had to give up in being the heir. The fact that you can bring that many conflicting ideas and emotions out with so few words is really amazing. I also particularly liked the capitalization of royal and the emphasis on how the one word can so define Jon's life.

That sounds like a wonderful idea, and a perfect way to still be writing something during the crazy back-to-school rush for everyone who's a student here.
