Title: Delusion Rating: PG Prompt: #23 Dream Word Count: 107 Summary (and any Warnings): All he wanted was normalcy. Sequel to In Bloom.
Crane woke gradually, blinking into the darkness, sweat tracing a wet path down his back. The sheets were too hot, and he threw them back with a sigh; the darkness made him claustrophobic.
He put his head in his hands. For days—months—after the blue pox, he'd had the dreams. Some of the images still haunted his thoughts, and even entering the greenhouse could trigger an unpleasant memory.
Thankfully, the dreams had eventually passed. Normalcy. It had been within his reach after so long, until—
The blue pox was gone. But now he dreamed of war, and bodies, and a tiny green bud bursting into life.

Beautiful. It's so simple, but there's meaning. If that makes any sense.

I love how this reminds us that it's not just the circle who has to come to terms with these great trials they go through. We got to watch them work through the blue pox, but it's easy to forget how terrible it would've been for all of the adults involved; used to making a difference and still feeling so helpless as they worked themselves to the bone.

This is fantastically written! You manage to fit so much into so few words, and it's really powerful.
