“It really is an absolute steal, Mr Conte.”
Roger snapped out of his daydream. “What?” he asked, irritated.
The buxom real estate agent shifted nervously at the edge in his voice, before plastering an over-bright smile across her stretched face. “The house, Mr Conte. Since you viewed it last month, the previous owner, poor chap, passed away.” She paused. “It was very sudden. Rumour has it that the brakes on his Maserati failed and he drove off cliff.”
Roger glanced around the vast entrance hall, with its grand staircase and double-height windows. “How unfortunate,” he replied smoothly.
“Indeed,” the agent agreed. “But his estate want a quick sale and have dropped the price.” She motioned around the room. “Six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a whole suite of entertaining rooms, views of the coast for miles.” She fixed her beady eyes on him. “Plenty of space to settle down and start a family.
Roger ignored her. “And the wine cellars?” he asked intently. “How many are there again?”
The agent flushed. “Er… five, Mr Conte. The previous owner liked his, er… wine.”
“Perfect.” Roger knew Alex would love it; he always said you could do a lot with dungeons.
Roger flashed a dazzling smile at her. “I’ll take it.”
