Title: A Secret Place

Prompt: #69 - Just before the dawn
Summary: Niko and Crane have a secret place that belongs to just them.
During the day, the greenhouse was filled with people and noise and light. Orders were given and plants were watered and weeds were pulled. During the night, it was quiet and still, almost eerie. The plants slumbered, but whispers lingered and echoes came around every corner.
But it was the in-between time that Niko liked best. When the shadows were gone, but before the sun cast its harsh glare through the glass walls. When everything seemed bathed in a pure golden mist, that transported the inside of the greenhouse to a faraway place.
That time was their time – his and Crane’s. It was when they could escape from the bustle of every day Temple life and simply just be. Be themselves. Be together. Be peaceful.
It was the time that Niko looked forward to during the day and missed most when he was away. No matter how long he had been away, or how far he had travelled, he knew he was home when he entered that greenhouse in the grey pre-dawn light and fell into the arms of his beloved.
