Title: True Love’s Kiss Rating: G Prompt: #63: Kissing Frogs Summary: So I thought it might be fun to take a super literal interpretation of the challenge for a spin. Even at ten, Delia has always known what she wants!
Tomorrow Delia will go to the convent. She will learn to dance and flirt and sew, to write letters and open a fan with the snap of a wrist.
But that it tomorrow, and it is still today.
Today Delia sits by a pond in the gardens of Eldorne manor with her chiffon skirts spread over her feet. In one palm she holds a frog. In a fairy tale, if a pretty girl kisses a frog, it will turn into a prince. Delia already knows that she is a pretty girl. She presses her lips to the frog’s cold brow, but nothing happens, so she clenches her fist and throws the frog into a bush.
Tomorrow Delia will try again. And she will go to the convent, and then to the palace, and she will keep kissing frogs until one finally turns into a prince.
