Summary: Thayet needs to know if he still has feelings for her.

"Do you ever wonder what it would have been like?" The slight waver in her voice tells him exactly what she means.

"With Alanna? Yes." Jonathan replies honestly.

Thayet nods, and her face is unreadable for a moment. "What do you think it would have been like?"

"An adventure. She always fell into the most interesting situations." He smiled slightly, remembering the dream he'd held for so many years. "But she was right, it wouldn't have worked."

"But you love her." The statement is calm, measured.

"Yes." He can't lie to her, not about this. "She's my friend, my vassal, my Champion. And she gave me you." Jon smiled warmly as he took her hands in his. "Whatever my love for Alanna is, it pales next to my love for you. You are the woman I want to marry, to have as my queen, to bear my children. And were it not for her, I would never have found you."
