Title: Like A Thief In The Night Rating: PG Prompt: #52 Modern Summary: Old habits die hard.
This wasn't the first. But it was probably the first time someone deserved it.
Briar could feel the sweat forming on his forehead and he was already regretting the balaclava. But hey, if he was going to rob a rich, pompous bastard, then he had to look the part.
After a few minutes, he had the door unlocked and the security disabled. The adrenalin was making him twitchy. Best to get what he came for, and get out. No more stupid mistakes. Not like last time.
The house was huge, and almost looked like it was bigger on the inside. He had to stifle a laugh. Focus. His eyes adjusted to the darkness, and then he was padding silently across the tiled floor, head turning left and right as he surveyed his options. It had to be something that the guy would miss, something precious. Something priceless.
Just when he was getting impatient, and seriously considering grabbing the nearest vase and making a quick getaway, he found it. It was impossible to fight the grin that spread across his face as he reached up and carefully claimed his prize, imagining the reaction its absence would provoke the following morning.
Perfect.

I totally want a sequel to this, with tomorrow's reaction! Giggled at the TARDIS reference.
Was Crane the victim? ;D

Some things never change, yes?
Briar could feel the sweat forming on his forehead and he was already regretting the balaclava. But hey, if he was going to rob a rich, pompous bastard, then he had to look the part.
Why not a fez? Just sayin'. Or do you prefer a different victim?
