Title: Flesh and Blood Rating (and Warnings): G Prompt: #14 Happily Ever After Word Count: 228 Summary: Some people find their happily ever after and keep it. And some find it and lose it. And then there are those lucky enough to find it again. Author's Notes:
-----
“I told you, I don’t care.”
“One day you will.”
“I won’t.”
“Maybe I don’t want anymore children.”
“Maybe that’s fine.”
“You won’t have an heir.”
“He can be my heir.”
“He’s not yours.”
“He can be.”
“He has a father.”
“He has a memory of a father. Will you have him grow up without one?”
“That’s not fair.”
“You’re not being fair.”
“Why don’t you find a gentle lady to give you your own sons?”
“Because the only lady I want is you.”
“Ladies don’t have illegitimate children.”
“Faleron would have married you before he was dispatched to the border, if he had known. You know that.”
“We’ll never know.”
“I know.”
“Then you do him a dishonor.”
“Because I want to give his son a name? Do you care so little for him?”
“Don’t you dare say that. Don’t you dare.”
“I love you. I love him. And I loved Faleron, same as you.”
“I’ll do him a dishonor if I marry you.”
“The best honor to his memory is you and the son he never met.”
“If you adopt him, he’ll be your heir. Don’t you want your own?”
“I don’t care if you don’t give me any children at all. I’ll have you, and him.”
“You really don’t mind...do you?”
“He was my cousin. I couldn’t ask for a better son than his.”

Ooh, this is great! I like how it's all dialogue, and it starts off confusing and then gradually makes more and more sense.

Great verbal volley! Could clearly see the struggle, and the emotion - if that makes sense. Nicely done!
