Summary: Somethings Alanna can't trust herself with anymore.
"-– a simple enough task, if you seek a known quality," Numair says, running his fingertips over the rose-painted mirror. "In fact, this ought to be well within your –- "
"I don't trust this to myself," Alanna replies. At her friend's guarded, questioning look she continues, "I'm nearly fifty, my friend. I ought not have childish notions like –- " She stops, cutting herself off before her voice can waver. Her friend nods understanding.
The silence while Numair lays the spell chokes her, too many magics in too little space.
"It's a ... wrongness, there." he says, his brows knot together.
"No. It's Roger."
