Summary: It was a beautiful reunion.
Notes:: Because Lioness Rampant has blatantly been a tease, and also because of evening chat.
It was the delight in her voice that caused him to kick the door shut like a barbarian. All the tension and ill-feeling he pettily harboured disappeared at the sight of her familiar copper curls, and transformed into a rich ache of familiarity and strangeness.
As she stared up at him with Alan's flushed cheeks and Alanna's curved mouth, he felt a twinge spark from the back of his neck to the base of his spine. An ocean of lies lay between them, with the only truth in sight being his large, shaking hands, and the way they curved protectively around her small, steady shoulders. Uncertainty flashed in her eyes, followed by the bare resurrection of an old curiosity.
So he revelled in that moment; for she was not Gary's, nor Jon's, nor George's. She was just Alanna, he was just Raoul, and this was one celebration they'd both enjoy.
