Summary: Coram asks Alanna is sure she wants to go
“You don’t have to go,” Coram told Alanna.
“Yes, I do,” replied the small red-headed knight as she pulled herself up into her saddle.
“I’m sure if you just spent some time down with the Bazhir, that things would calm down at court, and then you could go home. You wouldn’t have to go off adventuring.”
Alanna looked at the man who had pretty much raised her after her father had escaped from the realities of his world into his work. She knew why he suddenly didn’t want to go with her on this trip, one that was so ill defined that no one knew where exactly they would go. “I could go alone if you don’t want to come with me, but I am going. Now if you are coming with me, we should probably get going.”
Fine, fine Coram thought as he swung up into his own saddle. Who knows what stories this journey would give him? His life had already had more excitement than he ever could have dreamed of, and Jon claimed it wasn’t over yet. He would have time for a certain pretty lady when they returned, and he could tell her all about this trip when he was back in her arms.
