Title: Centuries Rating: PG Word Count: 144 Prompt: 28, Freedom Summary: Kyprioth doesn't like the sea, he wants his islands back.
He despised the sea; he imagined his brother and sister had laughed together as they confined him to it. Feeling particularly hateful towards his situation he sent the sea crashing over their—his—islands. He watched from a distance just far enough that the desperate pleadings of his remaining people were drowned out by the sounds of the waves tearing apart their islands. But after the storm there was nothing to deafen him from his people’s cries, as there was nothing he could possibly do to help them—his strength drained so much faster now that he had so little. It would be centuries before he could be strong enough to help them, but what mortal could wait centuries? In the darkest hour before the dawn, Kyprioth whispered a prophesy into the ears of his people. Their hope would save him, and he would save them.

Ooh, I like how he has a bit of a tantrum about it, and it's great to see how the prophecy came about!

Wonderful twist here. I love the anger, petulant as it may be, coming from him. I think we often forget how powerful the gods are.
