Title: Knight Errant Rating: G Prompt: #27 Journey Summary: Little Vania's quest is diverted.
"Didn't we tell you not to play in the fountain?" Roald admonished softly, and sighed in relief when he found the hallway to the Pages' Wing empty. Grabbing his sister by the hand, he led them into his rooms. "You aren't supposed to be here. I'll have to tell Mama."
Vania trudged along awkwardly, all big blue eyes and squelching shiny boots. "No! I don't want you to," she pouted, her cheeks puffing as she held up her arms to be picked up.
"You're six now."
She gasped, outraged. "But there's a pondfish in my boots!"

A pondfish! Hee, this is so cute! I love the bit about her being all big blue eyes and squelching shiny boots...it's like if she wasn't so adorable she wouldn't get away with half the stuff she does.

This is really adorable! I love that Vania doesn't explain about the fish or try to get it *out* of her boot, she just tries to get picked up so she doesn't have to walk on it. Such a perfect little kid thing to do. And I like Roald best in his role as an older brother, I think.

Gorgeous! Great Conte family snapshot. I love the idea of Vania being awful but awfully cute too.

Vania is certainly very cute in here I love your Roald, too, these glimpses of his duties and perhaps a hint of his future life as a family man.

Thanks guys! They both have different personalities - which is why it's always so interesting to play around with them.
